Who should attend?
The Skills Builder is literally that, a development course for those who have successfully completed the Scotwork Advanced Negotiating Skills course and who wish to refine and improve their skills. Typically participants will attend the Skills Builder programme 6 months after the Advanced Negotiating Skills Course.

Refresh - Challenge - Practise - Learn

This 2 day course allows you:

  • to revisit and practise the skills you learned
  • to reacquaint yourself with the 8 Step Approach
  • to test your recall of the negotiation process
  • to negotiate new cases handling different types of conflict
  • to improve your negotiation observation and analysis techniques
  • to develop your recognition of value creation opportunities
  • to help you attain your personal and transactional goals
  • to build your confidence levels

THE OUTCOME for you, our client:

  • To multiply the return on your investment
  • To reactivate the skills learned on the Scotwork Advanced Negotiating Skills course
  • To help create a negotiation culture within your business

THE METHOD:

We practise; this workshop gives each individual over 4 hours of live negotiation practise and analysis.

We experience; the Skills Builder workshop uses a variety of original exercises to give "texture" to the learning process and to help fix the ideas and techniques in each participant's mind.

We see; The Skills Builder workshop uses strong visual images to improve recall and application of the skills.

We do; new case-play materials reflect many of the common business challenges and allow participants to draw conclusions to apply at work.

We discuss; one-to-one discussion with the course leaders reviewing their "Awareness" profile; their existing use of the skills; their personal negotiation challenges; and their individual "Skills and Actions" plans helps address many of the participants' concerns.

We develop what we find useful; restructured Objective form, Negotiation feedback Form, Negotiation Results Log and Tactical Advice notes, all provide practical tools for use back at work.

Open (public) courses

We offer regular Open programmes across the UK and around the world. This format is ideal for individuals, or where it is not possible for groups of 12 members of your team to be in training in the same week, or where organisations wish to trial the programme before a roll-out across the team.

Many of our participants also enjoy the opportunity to work with people from other backgrounds, roles and organisations. We only accept up to two people from each organisation onto each Public course to ensure that a diverse mix of people is represented.

A place on an Open Course in 2012 costs £1,310 + VAT in London and £1,170 + VAT in the rest of the UK.

Accommodation/meals are extra and should be paid for by the participant at the end of the course to the hotel. We recommend staying at the hotel; however for those not doing so there is a Daily Delegate Rate.

Please see Booking Enquiries for UK dates.

For International Open course dates find your nearest offices.
